When do you candle?

I've read that you can candle as early as three days, others say a week, some say ten, some say two weeks...

So what do you do? I'm curious.

I try to candle my eggs to as close as 6, 12 and 18 days. 6 days is to seeand embryo, 12 days if no embryo is seen, then they get chucked and 18 to see if the chick has developed well.

If your a novice at candling it's best to wait til the evening of day 10 to see the veins and embryo developing. Some can candle at day 5 if they are white eggs, some wait til day 7 for the first candling.

I do day 10 if I'm patient enough as I like to not full with the eggs much the first week or more of incubation if they are in a turner. I then candle again on day 14 and again on the evening of day 18.

And some with a deseas candle every day..

It really doesnt matter, some candle everyday and have a good hatch. it just depends on how you handle the eggs i guess..
But people tend to do it at day 7, 12, and 18 i believe... but whatever day after day 5 people will usually candle first. Hope i am making some sence?!
