When I went to do the chickens my sister pointed out to me that our Light Brahma, Jessica, was acting strange.

Jessica had a darkish comb and when she hopped out of the coop she stumbled a bit. I picked her up and decided to look in her mouth and sure enough, there was a bunch of the smelly yellow growth inside.

We hurried her up to the shed and she's in a cage with food and water. She did eat and drink a bit but now as I just checked on her she's all huddled up in a corner sleeping.

Since she has so much of it I'm positive the others have it now as well as my neighbour/our chickens.

I had a case of canker last year and sadly the hens died partly because I didn't have to right medication but this time I do have copper sulphate from my cousins.

How can I treat this and how can I make the hens and roos get the sulphate?

I'm in Canada by the way so getting other medications isn't very easy and I don't want to ship anything.

Will it cure the canker for the hens that have a severe case of it?

My mother read that you can also dilute it will ACV... Have you heard of that?

There is no cure for canker in birds, only continued monthly treatments with copper sulfate will keep it in check as I mentioned. Canker is contagious to other birds and they remain carriers for life. Keep feeders and waterers clean at all times.
Do not add anything else to the copper sulfate/water mixture, it may change the properties of the chemicals. ACV does nothing to aid in treatment of canker.

Alright I will.

Sorry I guess I was trying to say if the copper sulphate will clean the junk out. Will it?
