I will still look for a copy cat that is Canning friendly.

there is also a gene for people who dont like cilantro... it tastes like soap to them. I am one of those but cultivated a tolerance for the soap taste and most Cilantro doesnt bother me but Cut it with a dull blade.... cant handle it.

It's also not a very accurate recipe for the Campbell's condensed soup that most people eat.

There are no animal product ingredients in it.

It would be nice if somebody could find something that replicates the recipe that they use and doesn't add other stuff to it

Thanks for the link. Problem is they use store bought canned tomato products - paste, puree and sauce. I think I will try it with my home canned tomatoes. A secret that I found by accident - if you need to thicken anything with a tomato dase and don't have time to cook it down, add dehydrated tomatoes that you ground into a powder. It adds more fresh tomato taste and thickens stuff up nicely.

I always substitute my own things when I cook. Sometimes you have to play with a recipe to get it right. I'm sure there are other recipes this one just popped up first.

That's funny because I had the same thing
Because it's full of sugar and salt! And really acidic.
Same reason I crave it and spaghettios! LOL.

I reached into the canning cupboard for a halfpint of my pizza sauce, and dang if what I though was a stack of sauce, was a stack of my ketchup. D'OH!

Guess I'll be cooking down some pizza sauce next week.
