I have a salmon faverolle behaving off and i cannot figure out what it is. Today is day 3.
She is almost 2 years old, never been sick before.
Symptoms:
*Crop felt like it had about 1/2 tsp of grit in it at 5:45am this morning, otherwise empty (she was still on roost).
*Yawning, crop adjusting yesterday. Today looks like she may be regurgitating water. (Have her in a video of the "regurgitation"
*Tail bobbing on occasion.
*Laying down.
*Not eating much.
*noticed a head shake when observing her today.
When put to free range yesterday, she just dust bathed.
She was in the nesting box yesterday and there was an egg from her or her sister. I have two salmons. I didn't catch sister in the box, but I can't track every moment. So it could've been hers.
Temperatures averaging in the mid 80s, at times higher humidity. Have fans and excellent coop and run ventilation and shade. I bring out ice mid day for waterers. Free range in the evenings. Temps at night highs 60s, one night the low was 76. It's been a humid summer, we did go through a 1 week heat dome and she did great.
First pic is her overnight roost poop.
Second is just now poop.

Now this poop. Bacterial infection?
I don't think so, though others may disagree. I think she has or had an issue with a soft-shelled or shell-less egg (the tail bobbing suggests that, as well as the egg-white 'poop' and the other signs of discomfort). I would not mess up her digestive tract with meds at least yet. If she's now expelled the material, as it appears she has, she could be back to normal in a day or two.

Her urates are very yellow and normally are white, so that may be from egg yolk peritonitis or liver problems, ascites (water belly,) etc. Her crop looks huge in the pictures, so her crop may not be working well, possibly from the reproductive problems. I would give her a tsp of chilled coconut oil, mineral oil in some cooked egg, or 2 stool softeners. That may help her pass some of the crop contents. I would also worm her with 1.5 ml of SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer or the horse paste today and for the next 5 days total. Worms can cause crop problems as well.
