She's a sun queen! I had to take this picture real quick before one of the other Brahmas tried to nestle under her wing. Love these birds...can be very vocal, I get heckled every time I open the back door!

Barney the cockerel is such a cutie pie (updated pic coming shortly) but he's almost afraid of his own shadow! He's a friendly bird, when I try to pick him up he puts on a bit of a show like he's trying to run away and then he turns around and grabs my finger and shakes it. In reality if he was trying he could take a chunk out of my finger and if he didn't want to be picked up he could easily outrun me, he's grease lightning when he wants to be and he flies really well...great vertical take off!

I'm disappointed that he is so darned unpopular with the ladies, they seem to really dislike him and chase him at every opportunity, his advances are VERY unwelcome. I really hope that he fits in eventually.

Do you think this is the case with all cockerels at this age? I'd love some input from anyone with a similar experience.
