Can't break my broody hen

I have 2 broodies right now. I thought the hen that went broody first was broken, but she still has a lot of lingering interest in what's going on in the nest boxes. Basically, she watches the occupants like a hawk, even though she isn't sitting in them herself. She just stands there staring and being a pest. She is also still off-lay. Her sister who is molting started hogging everyone's favorite box yesterday. They both went into the cage today together. I had elevated the cage when I used it last week, but because my hen sustained a leg injury in there, I put it back on the ground. These are my first-ever broody hens, and I tried doing it the nice way at first, but now I realize what I'm up against. I am trying to wait until cooler weather comes in to accommodate any broodies with hatching eggs because we're getting into the triple digit temps. Anyway, I'm glad I saw this post in case we have problems.

I "lined" the top section of wire that the plastic tray slides into with 1 x 2 welded wire to prevent leg injury.
