I raised two chicks, a mix of frizzle and silkie. They were born beginning of April. I got them at two weeks old, they were not handled much. I let these two hellions out of the tractor when I am home, they have a nice size backyard, but I am worried about the hawk and other fowl-eating critters - ( I already lost two runner ducks in two weeks, same issue, not tame and they would stay out at night on the river and lake....) -- I cannot get them to go into the tractor, I have to catch them and these two sisters are pretty **** fast....getting tired of running after two furballs, is there a better way? I tried the food thing, they only come so close to the tractor....when they were little I got them used to a call, but they now ignore it because it means having to "go in"....any help is appreciated..

What most people do is they lock them up for a few weeks to let them get used to the coop. During this time you need to feed them every day around the time that they would need to be going into the coop and also try to tame them a little.

that sounds like a deal....too bad, it's a nice yard with lotsa bugs 'n stuff, but I am starting to be ruled by two peeps....LOL...thank you

That's interesting. I was going to suggest using a higher value treat to lure them in, that regular feed wouldn't cut it but corn is a pretty good treat. That's interesting that they won't go in. I lured mine in with food at first, now when they see me going toward the run they just go in on their own.
