We are in lockdown and on day 2 of it. I cant get the humidity to stay above 50%. When I put warm water in it will shoot up tp 60-70% but drop right back down to 50%. I have 4 small containers with sponge clothes in them filled with water and one large aluminum pan under the eggs with more sponge clothes in it filled as well. I only add warm water and I keep refilling them at least 2 times a day to make sure they don't run out. My house is very dry due to my HVAC system so I don't know what else to do. There isn't much room left in my incubator for more water wells. Does anyone else have any more ideas I can use? Or do you think 50% will be ok?

Are you sure your hygrometer is accurrate?
That would be my first question too. With that much water in there it should be much higher unless you have some big vent holes it's going right out of. I would say keep the water filled and as a precaution just don't open more than you have to inorder to keep the water in it.

I calibrated them with the salt test. The small one was thermometer and hydrometer specifically for incubating and said it was per calibrated but I checked it anyway. The big one from Walmart is off by 4% low and the little one is only off by 1% low. I do have many ventilation holes but they aren't to big. I had to even cover some with tape to keep the temp steady. There are still plenty of ventilation holes left. I was thinking of putting fabric over the holes and keeping it moist. This way air can get in but its moist air too. Do you think that will help at all?
