I agree. I had a chance to meet a very established member here the other day, DANNY, who I spent a long time PMing back and forth and then eventually speaking to a couple of times. DANNY really schooled me on a lot of things, he's been doing birds for over 40 years... It was great.

One of the things he said again and again is that hatching shipped eggs is sort of a crap shoot... you can get good or bad results depending mostly on how the P.O. handles your box. We got eggs GIVEN to us and the box was very thoroughly marked FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP, HATCHING EGGS... The mail carrier HAND delivered it to us like it was a newborn baby. They are under our hen Alice right now and Saturday is the magic day... In fact we're having a "birthday party" - I'm having my in-laws over and I'm cooking a huge meal to celebrate. Hopefully the little eggs cooperate and all hatch... I'll post the menu, and pics later.

In the spirit of this endeavor we all are sharing here, hatching eggs into beautiful little creatures we love and adore, I invite ALL OF YOU to join us at least in Spirit on that day.

I like your signature.

Michael and Nan I will be with you on Saturday in spirit. Do please let me know how it goes, you could PM me if you didn't mind.

Have you candled them, or just hoping?

The ones I have in the 'Bator look great at present. Trying NOT to count my eggs before they hatch, though.

Catherine

PS--I have a dog who has a GREAT future as an Egg Sniffing Dog. My little Huckleberry the Brave comes in and points out an egg that is going bad! And he knows what he is sniffing about!
