CANT KEEP THE HUMIDITY RIGHT N IM AFRAID ITS GONNA KILL THEM PLZ HELP!

I don't sweat the humidity so much anymore after DD started to stagger hatches. As long as it doesn't get bone dry or in the last week of hatch has some water in the tray, they will be fine. Put it simpily, we really don't change the water level for days 18-21. Just make sure the tray has as much water throughout the entire time as in the beginning. DD's hatch rate has gone up (expecially on shipped eggs). It's what works for us.

It's why when you were shopping incubators last week I suggested that the Brinsea ECO 20 was great because you did not have to open it to turn the eggs... Temps stay the same too because you just don't "need" to open it...

Let it be for a day and it will stabilize. Folks say you can run up to 60% with no appreciable problems...

yes you were the one that was a little rude and told me to spend some "REAL" money... ive lost my job and can not afford that and its all i can do to feed the farm i have now. i will do the best that i can i only have one egg in there and if it hatches fine and if it done fine

Well kid, I did a LOT of studying and reading before I made my move and got an incubator. My life is too short to have a lot of aggravation so I don't buy things I think are gonna be a lot of fuss and hassle...

As for me being rude: well I think it's just you being young and full of beans, and me being mellow and VERY fortright and speaking straight from the hip with folks.

Go read your own sig tag

Good luck, that thing will stabilize if you leave it be... I think from now on I'll just leave your threads to others, I only tried to help you.

What day are you on? And what kind of incubator? DD has both an LG from TSC and Genesis 1588 with turner sitting side by side right now with eggs in both.

If it's an LG, it is touchy-er, and I could have thrown it out the window the first day of trying to get it to the right temps. but now that the knob is right on the mark and it has been permenant markered so I know exactly how the knob needs to be turned, I like it as well as the 1588. It does take awhile longer to get back to temp. after opening lid, but it's like a hen getting off the nest to go do her business and eat and such.

DD just hatched out a bunch of guineas in the LG. And also has little bitty blue eggs in it yet(staggered hatch) to hatch, that actually I think is going to be our best hatch yet from shipped eggs! I also THINK the LG does better with lots of eggs in it!

plus don't worry to much about humidity everyone does it different. I keep mine at 25 - 40 first 18 days and only take it up to 50 last 3 days .

I thing the main thing I'm learning is that this is a "to each his own type of deal". You have to do things the way you feel is right and find your level of success through that.

I personally would not spend my money on the little Brinsea, I could have 2 LGs with fans in them for the price of 1 of those and be incubating 4 times the amount of eggs it holds. To me it is a waste of money, to others it is the best thing in the world.

I would freak with the low level humidity willow, lol because my neighbor did that and hatched 1 out of 10.

Keni just keep up what you are doing and you will get more comfortable as time goes on. Then you will be a pro at this!

And yes, if this is your first incubation attempt, it is kinda scary trying to get everything RIGHT. But right for some is not right for others as in what part of the world your located and where the incubator is located in the home. After a few hatches you will find out what works best for you.
