Can't Machine Quilt...Why Does Machine Skip?

Always finding the positive, good girl! The good thing is that when a quilt is washed and gets that antique-y look, no one will ever know where the mistakes are, will only see the overall piece. So, mistakes won't really matter as long as the stitches are good, well-anchored stitches.

Saw this sig line on a quilters' forum, thought y'all would like it. I'm sure some of you are guilty of it, lol!

That's very sweet, and thank you, but I'm in Georgia, quite a distance. I'm doing better, but I did find my little machine hates the Coats & Clark thread. After using my Gutermann threads, I decided to try the cheaper ones again. No way. Just won't work. So, I have to buy more, better thread.

I tried a loop-de-loop with some free form leaves today. I'm getting better at controlling my speed and the better thread keeps from breaking, too. May have to take a trip to Chattanooga to try some Brother and Juki machines. They only have Janome and Babylock dealers near me. I don't see a Janome I'd have, too expensive, and the Babylock, again, too expensive. Right now, the Juki 2010 is out in front, but the Brother 1500's price is rather tempting. They're almost identical machines, both with great reviews. Juki has less complaints about tension, overall, and has a speed control, but the thread cutter on the foot pedal may trip me up unless I can get used to it (there is a second one, a button, on the machine as well).

Ahh ok lol that is quite far. I have the juki 2010 it sews and quilts beautifully

Have you tried aurifil thread?

The thread cutter on the foot pedal is easy to get used to. I was worried about the same thing but was happy with how fast I adjusted.
