What is the recommended temperature/week for coturnix? Like chickens, you are supposed to drop 5 or 10 degrees every week... I came in today and they were panting...but they seemed perfectly content 3 days ago. I raised the light a bit, but would rather put the thermometer in there to know right where the temp should be.

Thanks!

Same as chickens....95* to start and then lower by 5* a week or so. But their behaviour is the most important clue to how warm to keep it.

What I do is I just leave the heatbulb at a steady 100*, but they have a big enough and ventilated enough pen that it works fine. They can be as close or as far as they want.

I moved them to a different brooder today, so I wanted to sort of get an idea of where it should be, since I couldn't remember. It is more ventilated so should be easy for them to move away if they get too warm. My main concern was that they get too cold since it is outside.

Thanks a bunch!
