I cant seem to see any air cells in the eggs, one or two did look like they had a very small air cell. Is this a sign of fresh eggs or trouble with detached air cells from shipping? I'm going to let them set for 24 hrs. before incubating and leave the turner off for a couple of days. Thanks for any advice.

Good sign. Means they were nice and fresh/stored under good conditions. If they were detached you'd see an air bubble floating around as you tipped the egg.

Thank you, that's a relief. Should I put them in the incubator or wait?

With mine I had no detached air cells so I let them sit for 12 hours and then set them. Mine did have 3 or 4 wobbly cells, so I didn't turn the first 24 and only tilted for the next 48 hours. Air cells were firm after that so I laid them down and incubated normally. Out of the 14 that went into lockdown 12 hatched out, all healthy.

This helped me, glad it is still here. Reassured that since fresh, most may still be viable. Thanks.

My Purebreed Breeder/shipper from cold country - in January -included instructions to rest them indoors 24 hrs, then keep eggs upright in the Incubator the first 3 days...undisturbed by turning.

That was all new to me, since most general information but i saw a loose air cell in one, so i kept searching for info. Instinct told me to unplug the turner within 8 hours, as it may be too much action since the air cells weren't visible yet. They rested still on their sides for a day, with only slight tilting, and i began a drawdown in humidity, as one of the Breeders of a critically endangered breed recommends lower humidity til hatch. I will try to learn if other breeds also need lower temps or humidity to set up an alternate hatcher by day 17. I'll post my process and results on a thread in the Incubation Forum / First Hatch. Cheers!

In case someone else with Shipped eggs needs help to think thru their care, here is an informal summary I found: https://www.facebook.com/notes/alab...cessfully-hatch-shipped-eggs/133243453534988/
