Can't stop a broody- with pic

That is definately cool !! Ive never seen a chicken care for kittens before !!! Maybe i should invest in some kittens for my 5 broody silkie hens (that are sitting on NO EGGS !!) LOL
 
That pic should win some kind of "too CUTE" award IMO!

My husband reported that apparently, she is not just content now with taking care of the kittens, momma was feeding the kittens and the chicken decided she was going to plop right down on top of all of them, mother and all. She has been amazing, both hen and cat for that matter.

The cat "Chicken" was born in the coop herself, and is the only one left from a bunch of ferals we had to get rid of. We could never catch her, but I told hubby if she behaved herself and did not kill or eat my chickens, she could stay. She manages to squeeze out of the welded wire panels to get out for food, but if she cannot she will eat the chicken food.

I cannot wait to see how the hen acts once the kittens start being more mobile!!
