Im so sorry I know how you feel. July 3rd my D'Anvers 2 of the hatched out 5 chicks, When I went to check on them they had pecked 2 of the chicks. Took all the skin off the tops og their heads and pecked their eyes out. They were still alive. We culled those poor babies and brought the other 3 in the house. DH said he hopes he never has to do that again.

I agree, your a good chickie momma, and you made the best choice, letting an animal suffer to the point of death in my opinion is unnecessarly cruel. Shes not suffereing now. Feel better soon, enjoy your other chickies.

I'm sorry for your loss, I lost my fav blue silkie mom with chicks to a dog . But you did whats best for your baby.
