Can't tell gender at all!

Both pullets
They have no male specific feathers that they would have at this point. And their combs and wattles are not big or red as they would have been by now if they were cockerels. And they would have crowed by now, and would be mounting the pullets and hens. If they are barnyard mixes then the coloring doesn't matter. Definite pullets.

Is there a general rule of thumb for barnyard mixes and what their egg colors usually are? Or is it totally depending on the father roo and mother hen that mated?

Are they definitely 16 weeks?
Can I have clearer photos please?
The back, if possible, clearly showing the feathers.

Feathering on #1 especially is contradicting that comb.
I am inclined to vote one cockerel, and one pullet, but the faces are pullet-like.

Now I see male specific feathers on that one. Which is confusing with the pullet face. Any chance they are younger than you thought? Might just be a late bloomer but the age would make more sense. I vote cockerel for the white one now.

I was leaning towards "pullet" for both, but that white one's a stumper. Up until that last photo, the comb even looked lady-like, but it's definitely "reddened up in the last shot. Those pics also show some points on the tail, and then there are the red shoulders. Those usually indicate a male, but I dunno if that works with mixes. If it's possible that they're younger than you think, the white one is likely "blue," not "pink!"

I'm leaning toward a pullet for the second one. I'm not 100% sure on the first one the red and the last picture of the feathers is throwing me off, but leaning toward cockerel. Hopefully, they start laying soon 🤞
