I agree with Fancychook lady about the saw dust not being a good kind of bedding or litter because it is dusty, and could contain mold, or wood that shouldn't be used, such as treated wood. Pine shavings are my favorite one to use. You can even use well-dried leaves and grass. If you wouldn't mind to post your pictures here that you sent me, it may help for others to see them. Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) is a disease that may or may not have respiratory symptoms, but can cause infection in the bones and joints. Tylan would be the treatment for it. Chickens will sit on their hocks, and have swollen joints. Viral arthritis can cause lameness and swelling above the hock, and is more common in meat birds but occasionally in layers. The tendons may eventually rupture. Riboflavin deficiency can cause chickens to sit on their hocks and not move a lot, and sometimes curled toes are present.
