Can't we all just get along?

I've been waiting for a thread on this topic to be created.
It's a subject that means a lot to some people, including me. If I've ever been horrible to anyone on this site then please send me a pm and I'll apologize.
Ive only been here for a few months and already I've had people call me 'a troll' numerous times, usually by the same old person. This is a forum which is designed specifically to gain knowledge on the topics of poultry keeping and also to have a bit of fun. Not to be MEAN to people!

I’ve seen ppl (especially Kiki) call you a troll. I thought it was just a joke at first but I realized it isn’t. You’ve been a good friend to me on here so it offends me people call you that.

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who has noticed this! And I do want to add that 99% of people on this site are awesome! But it's sad to see those few that name call can be "educators" and have other badges

I hope I haven't offended anyone. I can be very opinionated but try not to argue online. In person is a different story!

Agree, we all come here to educate, learn and share. In these times of increased stress and anxiety, BYC has been a safe haven for me anyway. Nice distraction from the everyday worries. I also agree the majority of people on this site are lovely and helpful. Keep being positive and I would advise staying off of threads where emotions run high.

Many BYC Educators are older folks that have been in the poultry fancy for many many years. Most often, they are not in any way being rude, simply honest, and people may take offense to it because they don't sugarcoat or beat around the bush in their answers. Those folks are invaluable additions to this site, and without them, many would lack the invaluable knowledge we all gathered here to gain in the first place. I think it important to remember that people have different styles of communication, and just because it is not necessarily your style, does not mean they are being rude.
