Col reeled backward from the punch, a small trickle of blood appearing under his left nostril.  Merek, who was right behind, side stepped quickly to get out of Col's way.  Almost at the same time, the birds swooped down again.  Merek swore loudly, bringing his weapon up to fend off the hawk and smacked the bird with the flat of his blade, sending it tumbling through the air.

As Col recovered slightly, he moved right, swinging his blade toward Pike's arm while the older bandit moved left, jabbing toward the caravan guard's mid-section with his weapon.

Terrick whispered a curse as the tunnel opened suddenly into a larger chamber with torches along the walls.  A few crude tables were set up here, littered with dirty plates, and empty mugs, marking it as the bandit's common area.  "This can't be right," he turned to look at Raven, knowing they were taking way too long now.

At the moment, Rook entered from the other end of the tunnel...

(Which bird?)

Raven raised her bow, aiming for Rook. "Company" She whispered

As Raven raised her bow, Terrick spun to face forward once again just as Rook caught site of the intruders. Currently weaponless, the young bandit took a step backwards, inching back toward the tunnel he had just emerged from as his mouth opened, ready to call for help...

"Hush" Raven said softly and released the arrow (Your call weather she injures or kills)

The arrow plunged into Rook's chest. The young bandit's open mouth let out only a short, pained gasp as he fell back against the tunnel wall, grasping the shaft of the arrow protruding from him, drowning in his own blood as he struggled to take his last breathes.

Terrick hurried forward and, whether to ensure the boy's silence or out of mercy, hurried the bandit along on his journey to the gods with a slit across the throat.

Raven set another arrow as she walked through the room, checking for any other bandits. "We have to hide him if we are to keep our presence hidden." She said softly

As both bandits recovered and fended off the hawks, Pike fumbled at his belt for a weapon that was better suited to combat in such close proximity to his opponents. His fingers found the wooden club that was hanging at his waist, but didn't have quite enough time to pull it loose before Merek and Col were on him again. With the weapon half untied he jumped backwards half of a step, raised his arms, and pulled his mid-section in as far and fast as he could to avoid both knives.

His size, however, was a limiting factor in his speed. While Col's blade missed as he threw his arms up, Merek's blade sliced through his shirt and pierced his stomach area. The cut was shallow enough that no severe internal damage was done, but a red stain began quickly spreading into the dirty white fabric of his shirt. Surprised, he stumbled backwards into the rock wall beside the cave entrance. The impact was just enough to knock the battle club loose, and he reached down desperately to grab it.

Terrick nodded. "Behind those barrels," he pointed and moved to help Raven move the young bandit's body. It wasn't an idea hiding location, but every moment wasted here increased their odds of getting lost or trapped in the tunnels. "We've obviously gone wrong somewhere," he said as quietly as he could while they moved the body. "Do you remember the map Luna drew?"

Beak went wheeling backward from the force of the blow. He recovered fast and dove down again.

Merek, seeing that he had a temporary advantage, tried to lunge forward before Pike could get his weapon loose, but was stymied by the bird diving toward his head. He was forced to bring his arms over his head and face to avoid letting the hawk take out his eyes. He slashed at the bird with his knife, intending to kill it.

Meanwhile Col, blood still pouring from his nose, let out an almost animal sounding growl and lunged straight at Pike, intent on knocking him down the steep steps leading into the tunnels.

Raven put the body down and stepped back to check how easy it was to see. She glanced around the room and thought of the map "Right at the last branch" She said and started back the way they had come, making sure to have an arrow set in her bow.
