"Whoever or whatever this Ent is, think he could just keep watch for us for a few hours?" Terrick said from inside the house, then leaned his head back on the pillow again, not anxious to move again.
"Yes, I could ask that of him also. I will be back soon. " She said and started walking towards the woods. She would have to find the ent before she could talk to him.
Terrick intended to stay awake until Raven could return, but exhaustion won out and he was snoring peacefully soon enough. Though, in truth, there was little threat remaining. Merek, wherever he had crawled off to lick his wounds, was too injured to even consider coming after the caravan guards and Tianea was too busy patching up the other injured bandits.
It was about an hour before Raven could return to the house, and even that had been pushing things with the slow talking ent. (And yeah, LOTR Ent lol) She came back to the house quietly, slipping around to check on the others before she would seek a bed to get some much needed sleep.
Linden had followed Terrick's example and retired to bed while Raven was out. Even the tips of his fingers felt exhausted. Mavis and Maple were safe, Terrick was on the mend... his mind collapsed internally with the small bit of pressure relieved. Now he could sleep...
When Terrick finally opened his eyes again daylight was streaming through the windows of Raven's home. He yawned as he rolled onto his side and then sat up, rolling his neck first to the right and then to the left, getting a satisfying 'crack' out of each side.
Carefully, he put the foot of his injured leg on the floor, testing his mobility. Whatever salve the elves had used on the wound had done wonders for reducing the pain to a dull ache, but the muscle had been sliced clean through and he sighed as he realized it would be a long time before the leg would support his weight again.
He glanced around the room, looking for something that he might use as a crutch and spotted a sturdy looking walking stick resting against the wall in the far corner. Slowly and carefully, he made his way over to it, using various pieces of furniture for support along the way. While he tried to be quiet for the sake of the others still sleeping, he could not avoid the small 'thump' each time he hopped closer to the stick. But finally, with it in hand, he made his way out of the house and into the sunshine, slowly making his way down to where Pike's body still lay near the shoreline.
