It was a long couple of seconds before Linden replied as he wasn't exactly sure himself what the answer was. Eventually he said in a heavy voice, "I will be." He sat down on his butt on the grass a couple feet from Pike's body and stared absently into the river. The seemingly endless supply of water rushing by comforted him. Life would go on. "I wonder if they are still there... the wagons, the caravan.... Do you think they would have abandoned us for dead by now?"

Linden looked up with a surprised "wha?" The fighting had still been taking place when he was forced to leave, it had been tilted in the bandits favour but he hadn't realized it was that bad. "Gosh, they might not even make it the rest of the way." He paused to take a deep breath. "What should we do? Try and find them? Head back to town, or... stay here?"
"Whatever you choose to do, I and my friends will help." Raven said "These bandits have brought evil to my home, I cannot ignore that" She told them, then finished almost to herself "and I cannot ignore my responsibilities any longer." Looking back to Terrick and Linden she smiled "I sent word to my family for help in defending this land, this forest. They will come to stop the slave traders and those who work with such people."((Ruby, keep an eye out in the future for a follow-up)
Terrick ran a hand through his hair and chewed on his lip a moment before replying. "I think we could probably find 'em easy enough. Unless they abandoned the wagons, they're bound to stay on the road. And I can't imagine the bandits that are left risking another assault. Can you?"

"I would appreciate your help in clearing my forest of these people." Raven said then stood up straighter when he looked to Pike's body. "If I may" She said gently then waited for a nod from Terrick. She started to sing the song elves sang at the funeral of a friend.Terrick looked over to where Raven was leaning up against the tree. "You've done more than I could have hoped for already, Lady and we're in your debt. Once I'm healed up, I'd be happy to lend my blade to your cause."
Then he looked back to Pike's body, feeling slightly guilty for already looking ahead before his friend's body was even laid to rest. But he stood there, slightly awkward, uncertain how to proceed. Did the occasion call for a speech? He cleared his throat, but found no words that seemed appropriate to ease the loss.
