Any chance we can get a picture of that brooder I would love to see how you did this and what did you use to cover all the holes in the peg board.?

Honestly you dont have to cover up the holes as long they are not BIG holes. Vents are important but keep the drafts from coming in.

I didn't cover all the holes in the pegboard, you can actually see it on my byc page on the bottom. I used this for day and week old chicks, last spring, about May. The brooder was in my draft free garage and had a heat lamp and about 15 chicks in it give or take! Worked great and was very convenient. I definitely wouldn't use this type of brooder in an outdoor shed/barn type of situation, well unless it was draft free and the temps aren't freezing. You'd have to use your own best judgment! Also works as a quick hospital type of situation/quarantine for older birds. I love it and it only costs about 12-15.00 depending on where you purchase it from.

Edited for a personal opinion change!

This is just an idea you could use for a brooder:
This is just a plastic storage box with a hole in the top & with wire, and boards on the top to help it stay on better.

( You don't have to have the boards on top.

Hope this helps.
