care for new chick--please help

This morning after 24 hours of pipping,egg under mom,the chick had not hatched.When we got home from church I found the egg,opened and the chick right by looking dead.there were pine shaving all over the floor--my guess is the mom got up and kickedthe egg out by mistake--perhaps that helped the chick break free.I have no idea how long the chick had been out but it wasn't under a heat lamp. I held it under a heat lamp and got it to take some sugar water. It's under that lamp now at about 100 degrees. I'd like it to be under the mom but if she moves around it would be hurt--so it's under th elamp--moving a little, eyes still closed. I"d appreciate any advice on how to care for this chick. It's full size, but very weak/tired and has been through a lot.

My advice is to leave it under the lamp untill it is up are about and is eating and drinking and can fend for itself against the older ones. A full day or two should do it. Hopefully mama will accept it.

this Chick is dry and resting mostly but from time to time stands and peeps.Eyes are open. I put one of the 3 day olds in with it and the little one really perked up with the cheeping but the cheeping got Mom alarmed so I returned the visitor to her. Right now I have the box with the new one right next to the box with mom and the others. The light is over the new one but mom and the others have moved to be closer to the light.
AFter setting for 3weeks,without basically moving,the mom is doing a lot of preening and kicking up the pineshavings as if she's takng a dustbath. I'm sure that's how the egg got kicked from under her.If the little one is still with us tonight, I will try to slip it under the mom (they are all quiet at night) then see what they are all like tomorrow. Right now the mom is standing. I wonder if she'd be ok to go out with her buddies(they are all free-ranging today and it's about 42 degrees out) .But she might forget she's a mom. All of the chicks and the mom are in our house right now.
