~*Carolina Chickenstock 2011*~

I can't say enough good things about the Chickenstock!!

I loved the location, even though it's almost a 2 hr drive for us.....I know if it were relocated further away, we just couldn't make it.

I'm not much of an early bird either, and considering we have to feed, water, turn out, and check the birds before we hit the road, starting at 9:30 would be great. I agree with lasting a bit longer into the day; I know it's my fault but just as my customers were dying down and I could walk around to see the other birds & stuff.....it was time to go home.

My vote would be for a Spring and a Fall Chickenstock.

It was that far because we went mostly the back way to shelby...if I had known 74 would have been that deserted in the morning - we would have taken 74 - It may have saved us 5+ miles.

Of course I didn't even do the speed limit but a couple of times.....

Ohh I vote to have it every 6 months! I couldn't make it to this past one so would LOVE for there to be one in the spring!

As much as I whined that I wished I could go, Saturday night I was happy I had stayed home.

Here in Suffolk we got almost 20 hours of rain. I agree with the airport's official measurement of 11+ inches of rain. The rain was falling hard already on Saturday morning. We lost power (and therefore water) at 11AM. As I settled down to bed inthe totally dark house with the storm raging outside, it occurred to me:

"I would be trying to get home right now in THIS!" It was 9 PM.

The rain stopped sometime between 2 and 5 AM.

I'll try to arrange my Saturday off better next time. Much better. Glad you all had fun.

Had a great time at the swap. Love, love, love my new Partridge Silkie Pair and my new little chicks. My pair has already bonded. If I get the female out to handle her the male already throws a fit. He quiets down as soon as he can see her. Thanks, Sandy.

I was driving so slow because my mouth was racing! I obviously can't drive fast while my mouth is doing the Indy 500! But it was fun to have Jackie with me. She was a hoot!
