CAROLINA CHICKENSTOCK FALL 2012

Also my daughter Dixie is considering selling her SQ Black Sumatra pair...1.5 years old...will only bring with presale...$75...she is wanting more color (and 5 ft plus tails) so she is looking at a great pair of red shoulder yoko's!!

I can definitly sex the may babies, they already are tagged.  I can do the trio, but I hate to because I have exactly an even split in the older ones.  So that will mean I have an extra boy.  I will sell the trio for $40.  Let me know if you are interested.

I'll buy the extra boy!! I got two girls a while back and they need a mate. How much?

I am in a quandary about Chickenstock. I plan on coming and selling some chickens, mostly birds under 3 month old. I will also have 2-3 roosters. The problem is that we want to stay in Lincolnton Friday night. We will be driving from the Asheville area, about 2 hours away. Does anyone know if hotels/motels have a livestock policy? We would either bring a utility trailer or borrow our son-in-laws truck (without a camper shell). Will they be safe in a motel parking lot? Will they be comfortable? I'll have a few chicks that shouldn't stay out at night. Is there a building at the site that is available to leave them over night? We have never transported chickens in a open vehicle before. Any advice about how to safely do this would be very appreciated. I don't want to stress my poor chickens any more than necessary. Thank you in advance.

I live in Lincolnton. If you aren't able to leave them at the Ponderosa overnight, shoot me a message. Maybe you can park the trailer at my house or something.

Let me discuss it with my husband and I will let you know about somewhere at the Ponderosa to park a trailer. It is a 40 acres horse facility owned by the horse club.

That is so kind of you to offer. For the original poster Jfaith51. Many folks who attend dog shows will leave their dogs in the vehicles. Now I dont like it, but it is not uncommon. They usually will bring an extention cord, run it out of the hotel room into the vehicle for a fan to run. You may be interested in that for a heat lamp if you need it. Alot depends on the weather that night. I know when I bought my chickens from someone I had to leave them in th ecar for one night, I was a nervous wreak and checked on them often. They did well, but they were 4-6 mo olds too.

If you have some you really need to bring into your room, just be sure you have platic to put under the box and really bring cleaner for the room. Dont leave the room a mess. Bring a deoderizer to spray in the room before you leave.
