CAROLINA CHICKENSTOCK FALL 2012

Quote: If I weren't traveling with a caravan I would be glad to but I am going with several other people/trucks/cars and we are all meeting up since I have to drive by myself and can't read the directions as I go. I am just below Tryon on the SC side and not that far from you but am headed towards Chesnee to meet up with everyone at 4:30 am.

I have come to the conclusion there are a couple....ahem how do I put this nicely...

Yes, he is a Cochin but bred from Frizzles. I cross my Frizzles with Silkies sometimes, too, if I need something from someone.
The red/black coloring is dominant. You may have a 25% chance of getting white but more than likely there would be color bleeding through on the hackles and tail and on roos in the saddle area.

Thanks for helping explain what possible outcomes could happen here for me and NCGrammie ...His kids with the silkies have all been colored really pretty...I have been thinking of putting him back with them during this winter and hatching more cause they have really turned out!!! And also a great fertility/hatch rate! Here is a pic of him as a young man with one of the silkies...he hadn't feathered in completely...

Here he is now...

I am so proud to have "snuck" him away from Amy at WestKnollFarms...(I did pay a pittance...rofl) Amy...I will be back to hit that project brooder again!!!
