Our chicks are about 2.5 weeks old. Today I was puzzled by the splotches of russet coloring on the chick I was sure was a Buff Orpington. We had originally ordered and received a Buff Orp, a Golden Sex Link, a Barred Rock and a Black Australorp. We thought we were sure who was who. And then our chick who we were sure was the Golden Sex link died. Turns out she was really the buff orp and the one we have is the Golden Sex Link! LOL. I'd make a terrible mother hen! At least I know she's a pullet now! I'm frankly relieved because she's so friendly I was hoping we wouldn't have to get rid of her! [IMG]

We did the same thing when we first bought Golden Sex Links and Buff Orps together at the feed store a few years ago. I was so sure that the BOs were the GSLs and vice versa...then found out they were reversed!

Your GSL will probably be your best egglayer!

My 12 year old daughter made sure we went out and told Luna that she wasn't really a Buff Orpington. She was pleased that Luna didn't seem to mind! [IMG]
