Here we have two separate issues that are very real AND fixable. There are no fail safe systems. All systems need the push and pull of different views to find something that looks like balance most of the time.

But, we have one issue that many of our judges are ELECTED. Which means campaigns which means favors and needing campaign funds etc etc etc.... Here where we live one does not even have to be a lawyer to be elected judge. You just have to know the right people. And as DAR said, if the judge decided the jury doesn't hear something they don't...

The other is an utter failure of the bar association to address wrong doing amongst its members........

Too many attorneys are seeking big cases that will lead to TV exposure etc rather than seeking justice. Edited to add there are too many lawyers right now and they all owe far too much money......

I still do not see how you are fixing the situation.

What do you think would have been the out come of the public out cry if this trial would not have had such media attention? Would the jury be different? What if we as the people of the USA knew nothing about Casey Anthony? And why do we not know about all the other cases involving missing or dead children?
Is it selective, political....how does that work?​

Haven't read any other things but I am ticked and disgusted. What an incredibly sick human being- I don't believe in hate and am making an exception for this witch. Since the jury did not have concrete evidence than they couldn't have prosecuted her but I'm sure they know the truth like we all do. And she'll never live a normal life, everyone hates her, I hope that it's miserable. I don't believe in the electric chair but certainly a life in jail. The evidence is clear. Just not solid.

May I add that what else gets me ticked off is that she got a tattoo of "Beautiful Life" two days after her poor child's murder and wrote in her diary seven days later "I believe I made the right decision and have never been so happy". DISGUSTING

I can't believe they said she was innocent! There is clear proof that she was killed by her mother!

I was shocked when the verdict came through. Along with over 1/2 the other ppl. in this world I'll bet. All I can say is she has some very good lawyers... Very Good.
