How to fix it?

Get people to want to hear something else than the garbage that passes for 'media' and 'news reports' today.

It's not just that it 'sells', that people like to oooh and aaahh over scandals.

The problem is that the media only shows one point of view and that people are content with hearing only one (twisted, distorted, sensationalist) side of the story. The worst possible. It's old fashioned yellow journalism at its worst.

I am upset with the decision but I agree with it, they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she killed her daughter.

Wow, she should have at least been charged with child abuse for not reporting her missing. The evidence for murder in the first degree just wasn't there (though I think she did it). What a shame.

17 pages wow! I have not read all the posts but wanted to mention what effect the decision to go for the death penalty played in the jurors decision to acquit. With so many people against the death penalty as a deterrent to crime I think people go free. I would want to be 100% sure myself if the possibility of taking a life was at stake. I really did not follow the trial close but it seems she was the prime suspect. Life in prison is more palatable these days and it would seem the reasonable doubt clause would be less a factor in that light.

I reckon she certainly deserves a significant prison sentence: I agree with chickened, I was a little shocked when I found out they could be giving her the death penalty...

I know this may upset alot of people, but my own personal opinion is that this woman showed enough indifference to the disappearance of her child, that even if she didn't kill her, she deserved a life in prison. Your kid is missing, you have no idea where she is, and you are out partying it up, gettin tatted.

Though I do believe she DID kill her, the way she behaved in those 31 days is a crime in itself. I cannot imagine ANY mother NOT being distraught, unless that mother was pleased her child was gone.

It's just sad sooooo sad.......the sweet little baby girl will have her justice one day ....... it just wasn't today. Karma !!!!!! What goeas around comes around!

What sucks is she will get a movie deal, pose for playboy and be set for life all at the expense of her beautiful little baby girl. I could go on but this is a family forum.
