I'm glad he did something, but I think slamming the other kid on the ground was too far. He should have just pushed him away and walked away from the situation. If the bully still continued to hit him, just keep pushing him or hold him back. That other kid could have had permanent damage from being slammed on the concrete.

I know that one expert gave the advice that he should have just walked away. I know from experience that if you try to walk away, the bully will follow you, so you have to do something. If you tell an authority figure, then what the bully will do is wait for you after school, on your way home or even at your house. So, you have to do something, but only within reason.

There is an interview with e the bully kid too on you tube and he is saying that Casey kicked him first but that little bully kid did not look scared at all to me.

Bet that "bully" wont go around punching people in the face anymore..

Only watched the bully interview so far...
I think that he may be really sorry... and maybe this happening to him taught him a very good life lesson.
I hope so...
*the comment,"he has an eyebrow pierceing at 12, hes doomed for life!" cracked me up!

About time he maned up. the bully got off easy. i was always taught to never start it but always finish it. i lost a fight at school once and got my butt busted when i got home for losing. if they swing first there is no too far as long as they are still breathing when it's over. just MHO.

I harbor NO sympathy for a bully, NONE!

Casey was lucky he was a much bigger and stronger kid. Had the sizes been reversed, which is often the case, the out come would not have been the same for him.

I was bullied in school by kids not only bigger than me, but by GROUPS of them. There's no fighting back for kids in that senario, no reporting to adults, or the retaliation bullying gets worse. There's no walking away, because you're surrounded by them. Had a few adults been paying attention, and stepped in.. maybe things would have been different for me.
