I posted yesterday about Cassandra seeming to be off her normal behavior. She had been quiet for two days with a full looking crop. I couldn’t catch her until the third day and her crop was soft and empty feeling. Her poo was yellowish cream. She live with 12 other chicks in a large new coop and run. They are all fine. She stood still fluffed up, or laid very still and seemed to be breathing a bit too strongly. She was not making any noises and when she did she sounds like a child with croup. She caught a fly in mid air and ate it. That seemed good. She ate some bits of watermelon and a bit of grit. She seemed very lethargic.
She was a beautiful girl and seemed just fine 4 days ago.
Last night she passed.
The rest of the flock looks fine. I have no idea what went wrong.
I am a worried new chick mama.
should I do something to help the rest of the flock be okay?
Thank you for your help.
