Here are a couple pictures of our little cockrel (I think) hatched 9-4. I love his coloring and he is so protective of his mate. There are only two of them and the minute I separate them they call out for each other

I need to get new photos of my babies next week to post

I am excited to announce that I will have the chocolate gene in my line and barring! Of course, you can't guarantee either of those in offspring, but this one little baby is carrying both

In addition to this baby, I will also be adding 2-3 more silkied frizzles - one a boy, hopefully another silkied girl, another mille fleur type frizzled girl, a black and white mottled frizzled girl and a couple uniquely marked smooth hens. I'm stilling hoping this one chick is pure white or mostly white if I can't get totally lucky lol. I'm very excited! They should all be laying by late spring and will be included in next year's egg shipments

That is awesome Nettie!!! I am so very happy for you!!! I really don't understand it or why it happens, but the vitamins work every time. My Miley is back with all her friends and loving life. It's like nothing was ever wrong with her.

My lone Amadeus egg goes into lockdown tomorrow!! I just candled it an the baby is really moving!!
also I FINALLY got a scale to weigh my Seramas an here are their weights (not that it really matters right now with them being only 6 weeks old)

Boys

Andre - 3oz (the smallest boy)
Shiloh - 4oz
Rocky - 4oz
Rayne - 7oz (the largest boy!)

Girls

Cassidy - 2oz (smallest girl)
Hawk - 2.5oz
Casey - 3oz
Miracle - 3oz (tied with Casey for largest girl)

Also my older Buff Mottled pullet

Star - 13oz (Class B)

I did this for a friend who bought 5 babies from my first hatch. She has a program for farm management so she plugged the numbers in (at 6 weeks too) and is going to get back to me with their weights at 6+ months. Should be interesting so see if there is any correlation.

And good luck with the lockdown! I will be curious to see what hatches! Not all his babies have been frizzled...
