Hi guys. Kind of new here. Raised chickens before, but simply never had any major problems.
we ordered 26 chicks and the first night our cat got in the garage and played soccer ... or bowling with them. 4 were fatally injured and for the next 3 days we lost chicks.
Then it stopped and we thought our worries were over. We got more chicks and suddenly the FIRST batch started dying off... one each day. They are all getting the pastey butt, and we are cleaning them carefully, but even with electrolytes and some medicated feed that my son brought over, the pastey butt isn't going away!
What am I missing?
What SHOULD we be doing ????
thanks in advance!
