Cat attacking ducks

I agree with the others, it's such a shame that you can't keep even a small amount of fowl on 3 acres where you live. I think I would have fought that and tried to get the ordinance changed.

Most towns have ordinances for poultry and life stock. They do not always include waterfowl. I would be picking through their rules and hope not to find waterfowl listed.

I personally do not consider ducks poultry.

i have 2male pekins and a female malard and a young maybe female mallard i had no idea ducks would fight when i see mallards at lake usually big groups of males and females are seperate. i am getting rid of 1 of my pekins just becouse they are big pigs but the other male will probly be upset for a few days cuz they are unseperable when i catch 1(not the tamest ducks) the other 1 will stay close and stare at me and wait for me to release his buddy if im far away when i let go the run and flap there wings(trying to fly) till they are back together

Yea I think I might just stick with 2 drakes because I find they are nicer then females and I had a female but she wouldn't come by me only the drake, + I think the Drakes have a funnier personality.

Ducks visit gardens all the time... I was thinking of trying my hand at hatching some phesant eggs next year. "Oh look, Honey! Some wild silver pheasants in our back garden! Aren't they pretty!"

I don't have hens yet, but I will. There is a big white cat that comes and attacks the wild birds we feed in the back garden (this morning is was a wood pigeon, before that a baby pheasant). I WANT IT OUT! I love cats, have always had cats, but my cats have never harmed their 'family' or dared to catch anything in my back garden lol. I'd chase them catch them and put them through the immense embarassment of watching their prey go free while they got a good scolding. I'm sure I seen a mouse wiggle it's tongue at Macavity!

I like the idea of catching it as a stray, but I would't want the neighbours to see me. I'd like to get along with them as it's quite a tight-knit community here and we're the newest on the road.
I looked at buying the ultrasoic boom things, but they've been discontinued, or so I'm told. But wouldn't they activate for pheasants too? I don't want those scaring off! Also I know there are sprays or something, but once again, if they smell of cat pee, I'm worried I'll end up with an empty and desolate garden.

Let me know if you try anything and I'll let you know if I think of anything.

its the other way around with me, my ducks ATTACK and i mean attack like a cat and mouse. my ducks hate everything else than humans lol they do a litle ninja attack!

they lower their heads and go in for the kill...well more like bite. lol

I have a tabby cat that's living under my duck and chicken coop, I am afraid that it might kill my animals, but what if I fed it like every day would that help detour it From possibly going after my chickens and ducks?

No, most cats kill for fun, feeding it would just make it stay around your property even more. Is this a feral or someone's pet?

Trap it, take it to animal control. If the neighbor asks, you have no idea where their cat is.
