:lau  We knew about a week after. She gained a little bit, eating more, and would sprawl out. I think she is 2 to 3 weeks in
Haha mine sprawls out all the time :D I think mine is 7 weeks, but I have no clue. I just have to learned to expect anything. We knew there was a possibility she hadn't been spayed because she was a stray, but we didn't want to pay for the vet to open her up when she had already been fixed. I personally was hoping she wasn't fixed, but my family was hoping otherwise :woot

He's got the strangest blue green almost. HUGE eyes though in person. The vet says it's the Maine Coon in him. Along with his fluffy mane, but we keep it trimmed because he's a sloppy eater!
That's so cool! At the shelter where I volunteer at, there's a Maine Coon with the same kind of eyes. :)
I have a year old calico named Callie that was found as a stray a few months ago. She is so sweet! She is the most docile cat I have ever had.

She's beautiful! She looks similar to my foster kitty, Gracie.
That's too funny, my husbands the same way. He loves our two Goldens but sully is his baby. Our last kitty, Loki, rest his soul, had the funniest relationship with our pups. You can see him staring at the pup (who you can barely see in the corner of the photo). Also the straw from our coffee happens to be placed where it looks like he's sipping our coffee

Haha! Our cats love beating up on the dogs.
Hi! this is my beautiful calico, Tina. One of our neighbours found her abandoned by his place. She's a great cat, and an amazing mouser.
Tina is gorgeous! Calico's are soooo pretty! :D
We had a calico who lived for 23 years! Marshmallow. (I know right, not all white but I named her when I was 5) she was the sweetest cat.
Holy moly! That's old!
Just found out my cat is pregnant!! I'm so excited for kittens!!! :D
Have fun with the little crazies! Please share pics when they come!

Okay, here's an update on the current residents at The Cat House, the shelter I volunteer at:

This is Gracie. She's actually my foster cat that I got from The Cat House.

She's pretty shy, but we're working on getting her to trust humans more. I'm sure you'll see lots of pics of her and updates!

Mystery is pretty shy as well, but when I went on Friday, she came out a lot and though she was too shy to let me pet her, she seemed interested in me and came pretty close.

Calypso is another shy one, but he is very sweet. He was found as a feral.

Pistachio is a funny little guy that loves to cuddle under his blankets all day!

Golden Girl is a beautiful orange tabby with the prettiest blue-green eyes. She is somehow related to Bambi, and we hope they can be adopted together.

Bambi is a playful little girl who has polydactyl feet.

Patches is an older girl who is known as the "Queen of The Cat House".

Oliver is a sociable guy that was rescued from the streets, where he was being abused.

Colston is like a giant teddy bear! He loves to cuddle in your lap and purr. He is a Maine coon.

Princess Leia is a newer resident of The Cat House, but I think she'll get adopted quickly. She's super friendly and follows you everywhere.

Tootsie is an active and loud resident! She loves going in the outdoor cattery and watching the birds.

Luna is a pretty girl who enjoys resting by the heaters.

And Doyle, who is a friendly guy who loves to be by your side.

I'm not sure if there is one of these threads already, but I thought that I'd start one.

We can talk about anything cats here and I hope it's a place where we can share pics and learn and listen to and share stories! We have three cats, soon to be two today as little Luna is getting adopted!

So, like I said, we have three cats: Spider, Luna, and Cherokee! I'll share their stories so you can get to know them better!
1. Spyder (Spyder-Kitty, Sypdey, Spydey-Cat)
We found Spyder on September 15 in the middle of a huge rainstorm. We were doing barn chores and working on some new stalls in there. My mom was driving our van filled with wood for the stalls through our front yard when she saw this black/grayish little soaked ball laying by the road. She got out of the van with my brother and saw that it was a super small kitten. So my brother came in the house and told me to get some towels because they had found a kitten. I grabbed some towels and ran to the front yard where my mom was standing in the rain getting soaked holding this poor little kitty. We wrapped soon to be named Spyder up in the towels and put him in a cat carrier that we had from our previous cat. I was given the job of watching Spyder while my mom and brother finished up the stalls. I looked up many things like what we were supposed to feed him, how often to give him milk, how old was he, etc. I also dried and warmed him up along with giving him a little water to drink. When our barn chores were finished we gave Spyder a bath and went to PetCo to get some kitten supplies. When we got home from PetCo we were happy to see Spyder was very active and excited to drink his milk replacer. But, we were faced with another dilemna, my dad had just had a spinal fusion, my brother and I had just started school again, and we had lots of chores to get done after being at the fair showing our animals. We didn't have much time to bottle feed and care for this little kitten so we called my grandma and asked if she would like to care for him for a few weeks and then when he was old enough we would put him out in our barn to be a barn cat. My grandma said yes and that she was very excited to be able to have some company (my grandpa died 6 years ago so my grandma lives alone). So Spyder went to my grandmas house and was loved, cared for, and given the health attention he needed until he was about 9 weeks old. Now, he lives in our barn with Cherokee (who I will talk about soon) and they have the time of their lives! They always have food and water, can run around anywhere they want, and even have a chicken coop we converted into a cat hut that they sleep in! And Spyder was also neutered, so no making kittens for him.

The day we found Spyder.

Whenever my grandma came for a visit with Spyder I would always take him outside and play with him.

My grandma comes to our house a lot, so here she was holding her precious Spyder as he took a break from playing.

Batting at my phone as I took a picture.

Nestled down in straw in a goat stall.

Saying hello!

2. Luna (Luni, Luni-Kitty, Lunitick, Pudgy, Pudgy-Face)
Once Spyder was settled in the barn we decided that he would need a friend so we got Luna. When we got her she was supposed to be 8 weeks old, but it turned out she was only about 2-3 weeks old. We decided to keep Luna in our house, we had learned that kittens have a hard time keeping their body tempature warm, and we didn't want little Luna to freeze outside. So now she's been in our house since October 17. And she kinda turned out to be a barn cat fail, lol. So we've been looking for someone to adopt her and finally we've found someone. My grandma's friend owns a cat rescue so the friend helped us find a home and today Luna is going to go to that new home. And of course we are going to play with the cats at the rescue! I will try to take pics and share them! We got her spayed, as well.

The day after we got Luna.

Laying in her bed.

Chillin' out in the house.

Taking a nap.

3. Cherokee (Cherry, Cher, Cher-Bear)
I had actually been feeding Cherokee for about 4 months before we moved him into the barn. He is definitely the friendliest out of our 3 cats, despite his living outside all his life. After 4 not hs of feeding Cherokee, he suddenly disappeared for about 3 weeks and we sadly figured he died or was hit by a car. All of a sudden he showed up again and was pretty sick. Tons of snot was hanging out of his nose and he was super skinny. He couldn't breath because of the snot and also couldn't eat, which is why we think he was so skinny. We got him the medical attention he needed and also got him neutered. Then we out him in the barn with Spyder and they became instant friends! We would've liked to found Cherokee an indoor home since he's so nice, but we found that he really dislikes the indoors and he really just wants to be outside with Spyder, so that's just what we let him do.

Hanging out with me in the barn. And sorry for the lack of pictures, everytime I try to take a picture he moves, lol.

Now that Luna will be leaving us, I've decided that I wouldn't mind fostering cats and abandoned kittens. I've enjoyed having a kitten in the house, but I admit that I don't mind sending her to a great home now that she's older because she's crazy! So I will be looking into fostering kittens/cats along with signing up to volunteer at our Humane Society or my grandmas friends rescue.
