Cat Food for Chickens

Yes, you can break up the dry cat food. You can also feed can, during molting and when you have a hen with thin shells you can also mix a little oyster shells and can cat food that way it increases there calcium.

My cat usually will only eat dry cat food but once every couple of weeks, he begs for the canned stuff. I give him half a small can and he is content so I take the other half can and put it over some greens with a boiled egg and the girls get it. Normally when I go out with a bowl of fresh greens they start jumping to get to them but if they see/smell the catfood, I have to just toss it down and get out of their way.

I've never thought about giving them the dry food but as dmclalin said, I do have some that the finicky cat won't eat so will try that as well.
