Don't bother. I hear this a lot, but dollar per pound, cat food is really expensive and the cheaper stuff isn't going to provide the "benefits" (ie extra protein and such). If you're birds are needing more protein, which is usually more of an issue during molting season and winter, there are cheaper options sick as feeding back extra eggs and meat scraps (if ducks will eat that).

Yeah i have brought anything - cause it pricy ££ - But i wanted to see what people say - I make sure they get what they are needing anyways :) just wanted some opions so thank you :)

Mine love dog food. They eat the same as my dogs it's grain free and has Salmon/pea formula.. It's only as a treat along with dried meal worms and 6 way scratch. But boy they sure do love it.

I fed Orijen Six Fish cat food over the winter as a treat. They liked it and it did help. I just believe in sticking to fish-based foods if you do it. Seemed more natural for a duck to me. You could also try dried mealworms to increase protein, but they aren't much cheaper.

My puppy Food is a duck based food. Mentally I couldn’t feed that to ducks no matter how much they might like it.

Sorry for being totally ignorant here but what are the supposed benefits and uses of cat or dog food? It seems like maybe y’all use it in cold weather for added protein?

I’m totally living in spring/summer bliss but every day I get this creeping “everything is going to be different in the winter. Start doing your research, dummy!” Thought in the back of my head. :barnie
