I know cats are typically only dangerous to chicks, and since we don't have any, I haven't worried about the neighborhood cats roaming around. Tonight, just before dusk, I learned that I have another reason not to worry. Our rooster, Omen caught a cat! I went back, and found Omen standing over a shell shocked cat😳😂 I felt sorry for the cat, because it looked at me with a panicked, "help me" expression on its face. I got Omen off the poor thing, and it disappeared over the fence faster than I could blink. The cat was a full grown, male, and I believe he belongs to a nice couple a few streets west of me. Needless to say, Omen is quite proud of himself, and I think the cat will avoid our yard... For a while, at least😂😂

He must be a really sweet rooster.
He is an amazing rooster! 😍😍He is the first rooster we've raised, and I'm so happy that we haven't had issues with him. He romances the ladies, and I've never seen him mount an unwilling hen. He also keeps Romeo, or subordinate rooster, in line.

When I was a kid, one of our hens had a nest in the neighbors brush pile. One day she led her chick's home. Our St Benard, moose, wouldn't hurt a thing, was curious and waddled over. That hen lit into him and he about turned inside out getting out of there.
