As a 911 operator, I can tell you, PLEASE do NOT call 911. 911 is for an emergency, an Emergency is classified "when life, limb, or property is in danger" They will not consider a cat in a tree to be an emergency and most animal control officers will not respond to such a call. Also, contrary to popular belief, the fire department will not respond either. If the cat climbed up the tree, the cat can and will climb down when it gets hungry enough.

Personally, I would wait til its REAAAALLL late at night, get a ladder, and climb up there and get that poor cat. I personally cant stand to see an animal suffering. This cat is. Its slowly starving to death and is probably dehydrated. If I lived closer, I would of been over there already. If the neighbor came out and yelled at me, Id say, call the cops!! Im getting my cat. Then the cops would be there, maybe offer help or call for help, and kitty would be saved. I certainly hope you can help this poor kitty soon. I will be watching this thread hoping for good news. If the cat climbed up the tree, the cat can and will climb down when it gets hungry enough.

Maybe sometimes, but not this case. The cat has been up there 3+ days. Cats often scale up trees and then can't figure out how to scale back down. Going up is the easy part.​

I'm madder than a wet hen.... well we now know that that a cat can live 5 full days in a tree before it dies.. I'm so mad at animal control and my jerk neighbor who wouldn't do anything.. he woulod let us on the property to even try.. was gonna put the ladder int he truckbed and try that way.. this cat was at least 2-3 storys up there.
