Cat urine smell help

Another article I read said that wet food can help with uti because it gets the cat to put more hydration in their bodies, which is important for overcoming an infection

I think it's a neat thing. Now I'm glad I feed them wet a few times a week.

Here's a good explanation of why wet food is good for UTI

I read the earlier link you had. It was interesting reading. I have only had one cat who had a UTI when she was around 18 but my SIL has a cat that constantly has issues. I used to feed my dogs a natural food diet but never did my cats. I have always fed purina cat chow. Now I only have 8 cats so I may could make their food. I really need to get my dogs back on raw foods. Been busy lately and the lab does tolerate Beneful. It was nice to find something he could eat that I could pour out of a bag. ( My laziness kicking in). Thanks for the read.

Yeah! It's weird because I also feed my do way better than the cats. Now I feel bad.

8cats!? Wow that's awesome that you care for that many! I applaud you!

Yeah. I feel bad now too! LOL I had over 30 at one point but you never count over 30...that makes you a crazy cat person! Mine have feline leukemia and are dying off. I had them all fixed so there won't be more. Now to help them live as best as they can. My oldest cat died a year or so ago at 22 and 1/2 and my oldest dog was put down a few years ago at 22. I have one cat that is around 15 and another that is 12 that I adopted since it tested positive for the disease. I think I will try supplementing their diet. Pitcarn put out a book that I used for natural raw food for my dogs and there is a cat section. I have one now that will most likely need to be put down before the year is over. He is beginning to develop growths at his lips but right now he can still eat and seems not to be bothered by it. About a third of the feral population is positive for feline leukemia and I didn't know anything about it until it was too late. We have been limping along for probably 15 years now with this. Get your cats tested and vaccinated. It lessens the chances of them contracting the disease!

do you feed only wet? I have 4 kitties Athena with the peeing issue. Purrsilla she has skin issues AutumnMist feline herpes and Ben ( the terror) he just has an attitude Do you think they could all eat the same food? How much and how often? The ages are 12, 8, 6 and 1. Athena was severely dehydrated and emaciated when we found her 6 yrs. ago. Could this have anything to do with her prob. now. Some __________ dumped her in the woods with no claws. She has a really sad story.

Awwww!! You're a sweetheart for rescuing them!

I honestly don't know for sure. I feed my kitties a can of wet every other morning and they are free fed all day. My female has not ever had issues, just my male so I can't say if it's been good for her or if she's just a healthy cat. I assume your vet might know?

that's what volunteering with animals does. you always take the can't be placed ones. Also have the dog who survived parvo. It's a bit of a nut house. Then add people with health issues. It's never dull or quite here.
