Cat with toilet paper fetish.

He likes water and anything that he can knock over. I'm considering the water bottle thing. Also considering fly paper after the mouse trap suggestion. Many good ideas!

I have yet to break mine of the habit. He will even break into the tp bag and systematically shred every roll. I just keep my TP up on the shelf above the toilet so he can't get it.

As a Mom to 4 cats, I've had that problem too. He likes to shread soft things, obviously. . . He might like one of those cardboard scratching boxes that lay flat on the floor. Some of my cats liked it and one thought it was a nifty catbox.

I think the plastic cover idea is really worth trying. He is probably marking his territory like they do in the wild by scratching trees. Hopefully he will grow out of it. In the meantime, just gotta love 'em.

At least toilet paper isn't as messy as knocking over full drinking glasses  My cats refuse to drink thier own water, even if I refill it three times a day. But when I have a glass full of water out on the table for 2 seconds they will pull it over with thier paws to get a drink.

This is what I do. The loose square is facing the wall. He still gets a few digs in, but mostly it just spins. He also likes to knock over water glasses and climb into the toilet to play in the water. I'll walk in to find toilet water up to the ceiling. Very not funny! Of course, using a squirt bottle had no effect on any of these behaviours and I think encouraged them a little by making it into a fun water game.

The toilet paper is in a 3 roll stack wire caddy on the floor. He bites the whole roll at once not just a sheet. If he can knock the caddy over he shreds all 3 rolls. I let him out at night but I'm sure that he stays local and doesn't travel to other states; but it sounds like others have cats with the same trait.
