catching quail in brooder!

What's the best method of catching quail out of a brooder?

I just grab them.

toss a towel over them or other light cloth even a tee shirt.

If your afraid u might grab them too hard, u can use a bowl n direct them in it with your hand. Then just scoop out

I have 20 in a 4x8 brooder...they are ready to go outside and are fast! They run to corners...grr..would a net work?

Yes. But take a 4'piece of cardboard & make the area they can run to smaller.

They are so small that one of those fish nets that you get at aquarium stores would work too

Just like chickens, quail eyes do not dilate. In low light conditions they are quite blind. Simply use this to your advantage. I leave a dim light on, away from the pen I am working, but the rest of the room or shop dark. You can just reach in and pick them up. Be aware that they still jump wildly at any point so dont take the top completely off or you'll be chase birds in the dark!
