lol Well I think the chicken was showing the cat who's boss before he got an ideas lol .
I have two (2) cats that have grown up with the chickens. Over the weekend when I was cleaning out the coop, Smokey sat on on the roosts and watched and kept me company, coming up the chicken ramp to get inside with me. The hens and roosters COMPLETELY ignore them, don't feel threatened at all. If we are in the run, they cry by the fence until we let them in to be with us all. It really is something to watch. I have no worries at all, even when the chicks were young.
i used to have a wild mom cat that slept with my birds,, soon even her babies played and ate and slept with the birds, they all learn who is boss after a while lol, once in a while they"ll even let you think your the boss hehe
My family's cats don't ever try to mess with our hens or they are asking for a sharp peck in the face!
A twist on the Tom Jones classic "What's New Pussycat?"...
Take that pussycat! Bok, Bok
I flog you
In your pussycat nose!
Cat: "Hey, are you the thing called a chicken?"
Chicken: ATTACK CAT
Lol! I guess my cats never learn their lesson. He wasn't messing with the chicken, but the chicken attacked him. I don't know why he didn't move when he had the chance.
Isn't it funny how quickly chickens establish a pecking order "OVER" cats? I did a posting about my Buff Orpingtons with their pet cat. It's pretty funny. My cat has learned to enjoy dust baths thanks to her chicken owners!
To think that I was worried that my hen's would need protection from my cats!
This chick grew up to be big enough to kick some cat butt, but I have indoor cats and outdoor chickens.
