Cats and cranky old neighbors

You shouldnt have to move your pets on YOUR property because of this persons cat...
Just catch the cat... (if hes going in your garage..trap him in there.
And bring him to the humane society to be adopted or put down.
Its not the poor cats fault... But you still have to do what you have to do..
Too bad its owner is such an irresponsible jerk for letting his pets outside to roam in other peoples yards.
I had this same problem with an ex-neighbor and her outside cats... i just trapped them and either found them new homes or brought them to the shelter.

Just curious - how do you think he got rid of your barn cats.

Perhaps he trapped them?!? Maybe in a moment of sweetness you could lament that you are having problems with a skunk and if he would be so kind, perhaps you could borrow a trap if he had one.

Agreed, but the OP also made it clear that he/she could not or would not secure the barn to keep predators out. I did also suggest trapping the cat.

I know...

If I'm reading the OP right, the neighbor has killed the OP's cats for coming onto his property, but yet allows his own cats to go to her property where they threaten/kill her livestock??? Correct???

Get a live trap and a .22, trap out of sight (the garage?), shoot and shovel under cover of darkness (but not in the garage, duh), and don't say a dang word to the neighbor. A cat for a cat.

How is the neighbor "going after" the rabits? They are free range?? If they are really worth what you say about being rare breeds, pen them securely and PADLOCK it so that you can prove a human did it if any harm comes to them.

the worst people you can have as pet owners are those who lets their animals wander.... followed closely by those who need to tip toe over the "first type" feelings when it comes to their own pets safety....

He's killed your cats for so much as setting a toe over the line, no killing... but he's allowing his to butcher your animals. Uh uh, time to Shoot Shovel and Shut Up. He comes asking just say you haven't seen him for a couple days...but if he comes over you'll give him a ring... it'd be true...

I would just get rid of the cat and never mention it to the neighbor.I would continue to get rid of any animals that are getting onto my property and causing problems. I would expect someone to do the same with my animals if they were given free range over the local area.Better to just take care of business than to get into a verbal war with the neighbor.

Screw SSS, shoot the darn thing, throw it on his front porch so he can dispose of it and send him a bill for the ammo.

Too harsh?
