I have a cat problem that maybe some of you cat lovers have a solution for...
A few months ago I agreed to take in 3 male kittens that a local rescue trapped in a feral colony, they were all neutered. I only agreed to take them as barn cats because I do not want any indoor cats. For 3-4 months they did great in the barn and then once they became comfortable with my 7 dogs they started following me to the garage. I'm ok with them anywhere on my 100 acre property EXCEPT my house. You all see where this is going right? Yep, they now are coming in the doggy door and in the house. I have tried everything to try and teach them this in not acceptable. I now lock them up every single night so I don't have to wake up to find them in the house and I'm starting to have issues during the day too. I honestly don't want the cats if they continue to come inside. But we have such a huge problem with kittens in this area they will be euthanized if I give them to the shelter. I just don't understand why they are not happy roaming an entire farm. As a side note I have 2 senior barn cats and 1 cat that hangs in my garage that a friend gave me when she moved. They are all content to stay away from my house and have never tried to come in. Every morning the cats are all fed only in the barn. Any ideas on how to keep them out of my house?
