Cats v/ snakes??

I don't hate snakes, but we've had more than our share this spring/summer.

My cats (3 of them) will not tackle a snake- unfortunately, my dogs will.

Letting cats run loose is just plain wrong. My neighbors have " outside" cats and it drives me nuts.

To each his own. I'm getting cats. Save the lectures and sanctimony. It means little to me.

Snakes? What's a snake? I guess I dont' know because I have 9 cats. Can't tell you the last time I saw a snake or mice. Well I do remember seeing dead mice at the back door. My cats love to leave me these little dead persents on the back porch. I love my cats!!!

My cats get everything. Only problem is they bring them in the house, normally alive. My russian blue brings in voles and my dog has to kill them. I can't tell you how many live ones I have found in the house this year. He sits and watches the ground move, really interesting. Two years ago I found a coral snake in my bedroom, one of my inside cats was playing with it, luckily it was dead. A few weeks later I found another snake, at least not poisonous, but it was not dead but faked it until I threw it outside at least.

I would always have cats, I love them but they do a great job on keeping rodents down. My chow who did all the hunting of predators died a few months back and my current dogs didn't pick up her hunting skills. A good hunter is worth its weight in gold.

Just so you know, not all cats know how to hunt, they have to learn it from some where.

My problem is my neighbors cats come on my place killing. So if you let them run loose, at least keep them on your land.

No matter what animals you have keep them on your land, hard to do with cats at night.

People just think its ok to let their cats go were they want. Dogs have kill more of my animals than any other predators.

Guess what cats are predators, had my birds killed, because oh my cats kill mice reason they can run loose!!!

Please keep in mind the poor asthma people like me who adore animals! (ME ME ME!) I love animals so much, but I ABSOLUTELY can not let them come inside, especially kitties. When I walk in a house, after 5 minutes I can tell if they let a cat inside. So my cats are outside cats. There were 6 stray kittens roaming around last year including them. My neighbor took in 2 and their mother. I took in 2 and actually made them pets, and I still see a few every once in a while. I know I don't feed just 2 cats, but I don't mind. I am fine with people having outside cats. I encourage it. Animals do not belong in people houses. Strays make me sad, but I hate having to take an allergy pill to visit my grandma, and washing my hands 20 times and taking a shower right after I get home, and being so conjested the next day.
My dogs are chained up or kenneled 24/7 and I really really dislike the people who let their dogs roam, but you can't kennel a cat.

And yes, my kitties get snakes, mice, all that jazz.

So don't tell me that having outside cats is just "plain wrong".
Sorry, I'm opinionated, but I have a good reason!

YOU can penned them just like we do chickens.

Just wrong for cat owner to let their cat kill wildlife and other people animals. If you cant keep them pen or at least on your place, thats means you should not be keeping any!!


Same as a dog kill others people animal, cats do the same, just not the large ones.

Thats one of the reasons I'm getting seriously a gator once I move to a state where it is legal. People don't keep animals on their own property, easier method of SSS. lol
