cats

We have a 41 chickens of different breeds. Our cats like them and one will even hand out near the water stands and drink with them. Our Japanese Bantam Hen has chased off a few stray or neighboring cats. She has chicks to worry about and has taken a tome cat or two by surprise. Cats do not like being picked on the nose, face, or eyes and especially right on the butt (Via sneak attack!!)!

What are people's experiences with cats and chickens living together?
I have 7 cats and they're all terrified of my chickens. They will often walk into the chicken's pens but if a chicken comes over to investigate them they bolt for the nearest exit

I've never had a a problem with cat's attacking chickens, however II have had a couple of problems with dogs jumping the fences into my pens and pulling my chickens feathers out :(

I have a tom cat who is 14 months, he has started stalking them, I was just wondering if I should keep an eye on them, my female cat ( his sister) doesn't seem interested in going out yet so hasn't seen them lol x

We have 6 cats and they are all terrified of the chickens too. They are even scared of the chicks...

Dogs however, LOVE to chase our chickens. We have had to ban dogs from our property.

Chickens are fairly good at defending themselves, I wouldn't worry to much about your cat stalking the chickens (that is unless he has a habit of killing large birds like crows or something). It will only take one peck or your chickens to chase your cat and they'll start to think twice about eating the chickens :)

Will the chickens hurt my cat though? I don't want any of them hurt I just want them to get own with there own days lol
No, I shouldn't imagine your cat will stick around long enough for your chicken to do much damage to them.
Your chicken will probably only kick at them or peck them, noting that's going to cause much damage, if any damage at all to your cats.
