Please do let us know if she takes to the lumber...

My cats learn a few words of English and I understand a little cat. My cat can say In, Out, Up Down, No, Yea, Want, Down, among other words.

OMG then Darn cat brought a LIVE chipmunk inside, I thought it was dead when she came in with it in her mouth until 15 minutes later the thing sat up and moved a little after much playing with it by the cat. I grabbed a trash can banged it a couple of times, and used a paper towel and tossed it out the opposite door.

Mine do too - however, they are selectively deaf when it comes to instructions....don't, no, stop. These words seem to be suggestions not directed towards them at all..

Actually, I speak animal quite fluently, but I find that some are just not good conversationalists! I'd love to know what is going through her mind every time I say "Molly, no....Molly no...Molly please don't do that honey.....Molly stop doing that!....MOLLY!!" Seems a bit of volume gets her attention.

It's amazing how much work they create! And absolutely everything I own has at least two pieces of cat hair on it!! I never seem to find enough time to brush them regularly, but when I have in the past, I found that it REALLY makes a difference.

OMG... you guy/gals are a hoot!!!

...stop it already!

Yes, so selective that it sometimes takes the red dot to just git their attention! But this is how "fat cat" gets his exercise... only takes ~15mins to wear him out!

I use hisses, meows, grunts and other sounds to speak to our "kids". With some cats it is a one sided conversation, but both our kids speak back, when spoken to! Usually it very quietly. They usually don't need much volume, unlike humans. Intonation can also speak volumes to them. My lil'girl knows when daddy is stressed... (rarely, but she knows...) She even cam out to me Well, as I was typing this "fat boy" brought in a wild baby rabbit. Prob only a couple/three months old... Grrrrrrr... now I have another live baby to deal with!!! I'll report back what the vet says. I hope someone will take this as food for some critter... don't need rabbits running around wildly, with the garden we have. More work... > Gotta go... many fires this evening. Later!
