I also found the links to Robert Plamondons Hoop Houses. We just built one of these Hoop Coops. Now I wish I would have made it bigger. Went with 2X6 instead of 2X4, for the extra weight to prevent blow over. Used the standard chicken wire, but extended it out a foot on the ground to prevent dig under by the varmits, we are next to a creek and see them often in the yard scrounging the cats food. Covered it in 6 mil plastic on top, the ends will be open during the warm weather, have 6 mil on the North end, till the weather starts leveling out. The roll up tarp idea may be a lot easier than replacing the plastic every winter. Thanks for sharing it. I just drape a tarp over the front at night when I go out to close them in, they free range during the day. Have moved it once due to, it rained while we were getting it built, floor looked more like pig pen. It was easy to slide and the chickens tend to spend most of their day in it. Drive a Jeep GC so getting the panels home was fun - went just as it was getting dark, wired it to the luggage rack and to the back bumper, rolling hoop coming down the back roads!
