Cause of death?

My husband just went out and found my 2 year old hen lying in a dust depression she made, dead but no rigor. There were no marks on her and she looked perfectly healthy when she went outside. I’m so sorry for losing her. Has anyone ever had this happen or does anyone know what this could be? I’m not only sad but worried about all the other gals…

Is it hot where you live? Ive had hens die of heat stroke that had been acting fine

It’s in the low 70’s today and they functioned okay in the sunlight. It’s a total mystery- I’m assuming 2 is too young for natural death.

It’s in the low 80’s today and they functioned okay in the outside temps yesterday.
